Files

The Files tab is the file browser for whatever directory Gray’s brain has access to.

What you see

Section titled “What you see”
  • Folders and files Gray can read.
  • Markdown, PDFs, and images preview inline.
  • Anything else shows file size and type.

Upload

Section titled “Upload”

Tap the + in the top right. Pick from Photos, Files, or paste from the clipboard. Uploaded files land in your Gray workspace and the brain can read them immediately.

Where files live

Section titled “Where files live”
  • Hosted: in your per-user volume on Gray’s infrastructure.
  • Self-host: the directory you pointed VB_FILE_ROOT at.

Free tier gets 1 GB. Paid tiers raise the cap (or remove it on self-host).

Privacy

Files are encrypted at rest. The brain only reads what you’ve explicitly given it access to. See Trust & Security for the full picture.
